  8. mk3d is a stereogram generator that works with text.  Given
  9. an input file, it'll output a bunch of text characters that
  10. can show a 3-d image to anyone willing to view the thing
  11. wall-eyed.  This program is an update (basically, a bugfix),
  12. with perhaps one minor enhancement (level 4 character
  13. selection is now considerably better).

  15. This program is based on similar code I found for MS-DOS on
  16. Usenet a couple of years ago.  I had to completely rewrite
  17. it, since that code was written in C, and I don't have a C
  18. compilor installed on my system (too much memory.. I only
  19. have a 40 meg harddrive <sigh>).

  21. Anyway, if you're looking for super-defined images, dream
  22. on.  This works with text, and so its definition is as
  23. blocky as you'd expect if you had to work strictly with
  24. characters.  But, the cool this about this program is that
  25. you can create your images to be viewed from within
  26. messages, if you want.
